Greek Orthodox Church

A stunning example of Greek architecture right in the heart of Northbridge the Greek Orthodox Church is a place of worship for the Greek and European community in Perth.

Built by the Greek community in 1935–37, the Church of St Constantine and St Helene was the result of many years of community fundraising and planning.

The design chosen for the Byzantine-style church was based on the Saint Constantine Cathedral of Castellorizo, an island in Greece.

Designed by Harold Boas of architectural firm Oldham, Boas and Ednie-Brown, the church has changed little since it was built.   The adjoining Hellenic Community Centre was completed in 1969 as a new venue for social functions and a meeting place for Hellenic organisations.
