Western Waves WA Film Festival - Sunday

City of Perth, supported by Screenwest proudly present Western Waves, a celebration of Western Australian feel-good feature length film, short film and musical performances. WA’s striking landscape with its harshness and beauty inspires many of the stories while the iconic humour that has become a hallmark of ouridentity shines through in these delightful films, which represent only a slice of the diversity of Western Australia and the experiences of its people.

Sunday 7th April - Closing Night

4pm – 6pm Libby Hammer Quintet Live @ Northbridge Piazza: Jazz Vocalist
Simply put, Libby Hammer is Perth’s favourite jazz vocalist. She has a knack for digging up quirky and often overlooked jewels of the American Songbook (and other songbooks too) and combining them with daring vocal interpretations, highflying improvisation and friendly banter.

6pm High Tide | 10 min | 2013 | Kimberley West
15-year-old fishing fanatic Jamie is thrown into a spin when Trudy, the girl he has a major crush on, suggests they go on a date - on the one night of the year when the tide is perfect for catching fish!

6.10pm Dingo | 1991 | PG | 109min | Rolf de Heer
Dingo traces the pilgrimage of John Anderson from his humble home in outback Western Australia to the jazz clubs of Paris, on a quest to meet his idol, jazz trumpeter Billy Cross, played by the legendary Miles Davis.
