Mother's Day Classic
The Mother's Day Classic is a fun and healthy event in Perth that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
There is a fun-run (4km and 8km) as well as a walk (4km and 8km) that participants can register for individually or within a team of friends, family members, community/ fitness groups or colleagues. As well as walking or running, participants can also volunteer or fundraise in support of those who have been affected by breast cancer. All donations and proceeds received from fundraising go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a 100% community funded organisation. Over the past 22 years, the Mother's Day Classic has raised over $35 million for breast cancer research and funded 64 life-saving research projects. With 1 in 7 women diagnosed in their lifetime, there's still a lot of work to be done before we can reach a 100% survival rate.
As well as the main running/walking event, there are plenty of activities to enjoy on the day including free entertainment, a kids zone and a range of delicious food/coffee vendors. There really is something for everyone to enjoy on the day!
