Comedy Starter Kit Performance Evening

A performance showcase and celebration of young voices in Perth’s local comedy circuit.

Featuring young, queer comedian Charlotte Glance and a premier performance from The Gelo Company's Giggle Gang collective. Hosted by Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa, a first generation Australian Sikh spoken word artist and laughter enthusiast. This event will also include performance showings from participants in the earlier ‘Comedy Starter Kit’ workshop, facilitated by Nadia Collins! Open mic available for more young budding comedians (if time permits).

This event is specifically for voices who may have felt ‘Othered’ in comedy, and gives them a microphone and a low-press chance to conquer their first gig!

About Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa, Charlotte Glance and Giggle Gang
Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa is a first generation Australian Sikh spoken word artist, educator, performer & human rights reformer. She is passionate about diversity and the importance of visibility in the performing arts and inherently merges her advocacy background with the arts.

Charlotte Glance is an emerging comedian who likes to write jokes about what it means to be a young queer woman in 2019 and a bunch of other stuff pub audiences usually aren't that into.

Giggle Gang is Perth's youngest stand-up comedy group, featuring members of Class Clowns WA alumni 2018.
