AGWA Modern presents works from 1920 to 1969. The display reflects key developments in the history of Australian and international art, during a time of social, political and artistic transition.
The works from this period show how art transformed from traditional modes of representation to purely abstract and conceptual art. AGWA Modern includes works by well-known Australian artists alongside key twentieth-century international artists, and together they highlight the Collection’s strength in works of art that engage with the landscape and depictions of the human figure.
