Take a walk down memory lane
Make the most of Perth’s amazing winter weather and get walking! There are plenty of walking tours available which show off Perth’s interesting history and beautiful heritage buildings. You can explore our convict story, the influence of the gold boom or see the city the way Whadjuk people lived before white settlement. Join the free tour group run by volunteers or follow the map and go your own way.
Dine in a historic landmark
If you’re looking for a meal with a story, don’t look past these venues. Right in the heart of the city, The Stables Bar was once horse stables and now boasts a great bar vibe with indoor and outdoor dining options. Formerly Newspaper House for the West Australian newspaper in 1932, today Print Hall on St Georges Terrace is home to four venues in one! For a late-night drink, head to Halford’s. Located in the State Buildings this cocktail bar is a contemporary take on a 1950s late night lounge bar. Finally, further up the river, the Old Brewery’s history began in 1838 and extended way beyond beer, but in 1877 until the 1960s it was a working brewery – safe to say, they still know their beer!
