November Gig Guide
This month kicks off in a big way with WAMFest a celebration of homegrown music. In the first weekend of November, several live venues will be putting on free events showcasing a plethora of artists. What’s more, a number of Aussie talent will be performing West side this month so head into the city and check out this month’s hottest gigs.
Hermitude

Hermitude dropped a big album this year with Pollyanarchy and they’re keeping the party going with a huge electronic hip hop show that will likely blow a few wigs back. Along for the ride is young producer Ninajirachi and the unmissable and infectiously fun Haiku Hands. Promoting their new single the bold and brash Northern Lights, Hermitude will also let rip with a few other bangers including The Buzz.
Thirsty Merc

Thirsty Merc, the mainstay of your summer playlist with their iconic song Summertime, are bringing those good vibes back to Perth to celebrate the release of their first live album, Thirsty Merc Live! The long-touring band will be gracing the stage at Friends Restaurant and bringing with them their raucous banter and all their hits including Tommy and Krista, Someday Someday and 20 Good Reasons. Book a table and enjoy the unique Friends experience.
Montaigne

See one of Australia’s most interesting songstresses and help a good cause at the same time. Montaigne is heading to Badlands and donating $1 from every ticket sold of her concert to Bush Heritage Australia, a non-profit organisation conserving biodiversity in Australia. The Sydney singer/songwriter is marking the release of her new single Ready and will likely reveal a few new songs from her new upcoming album Complex.
Jai Wolfe

Check out Jai Wolfe’s evolution from bedroom mixer, to bass DJ, to now in demand international act with his headlining gig at Slim’s. Having set the world ablaze with his lush melodious new album The Cure to Loneliness Wolfe heads to Australia in November in what is likely to become a sellout tour. Born in Bangladesh yet raised in New York City, Wolfe’s style is an eclectic and thoughtful journey through electronic music with undercurrents of alternative pop.
Horrorshow

Legends of Australian hip hop Horrorshow are bringing their flow back to Perth with a tour that has is guaranteed to deliver new tracks as well as some old favourites. Expect a show full of energy as the guys take command of the stage with a live performance that will remind you of old school block parties.
WAMFest

Presented by West Australian Music and Act-Belong-Commit, WAMFest WA’s biggest celebration of homegrown music is celebrating this year by taking over several of your favourite venues including Nevermind, Jack Rabbit Slim’s and The Boston. Over the first weekend of November, head out to Perth and Northbridge and catch some exciting emerging and diverse artists- and even better- all events are free!
