A flurry of flashbacks and neotropical dreams. A soundtrack of food, drinks, music and colour. Panama Social is where you’ve gone and where you’re going – through Central America and back again. A mish-mash of tropical food and poolside cocktails, all in a new twisted world on William Street.
With a mixture of private booths, lower seating and bar spots, the experience will differ depending on where you’re sitting. But wherever you find yourself, you’ll feel the celebration.
Food-wise, it’s a mixture of street food and home-style neotropical cookups. Expect riffs on, Pao de Queijo (Cheese Donuts) from Brazil, Empanadas from Mexico, Ceviches from Peru and Roti from Trinidad. It’s a mixture of influences and ingredients transformed by the whim of Panama Social’s head chef Chris Howard.
The drinks program is head up by Tom Kearney (Mechanics Institute, Dominion League) who takes tropical cocktails to new heights. Focusing on rum, tequila and pisco, there’ll be poolside cocktails with tropical twists like Kearney’s take on Pina Coladas. Punch bowls and beer jugs will be served for big groups.
